Confident? Awkward? Chivalrous? How do Drew students act when they want to date each other? What do they do when they like someone? There's no time like Valentine's Day to find out.

"I wouldn't call it stalking, but I'd definitely try to put myself in places where he'd be. If he goes to the gym all day, you'll definitely see me on the treadmill next to him," Jessica Rosen ('08) said.

Social networking sites are also a popular way of finding out what a person's into. "You look at their Facebook profile and see what they're about, see if they're on the gay team," Liz Keyser ('08) said.

"I try to hang out with someone I like, see how it goes, play it by ear," Danielle Lambert ('08) said.

"I'd make effort to hang out with him, text once in a while, dress more nicely," Stefanie Mercadante ('11) said.

Not one of the seven girls who were interviewed said they'd ever make the first move on a guy, let alone tell a guy that they liked him. Apparently, that job is for the gentlemen.

"I asked her to see the Bouncing Souls with me," Joe Maron ('10) said about how he had ended up in a relationship with Corey Moist ('11). "We both liked each other, but we didn't know," Corey said.

So, Maron made the first move. "There was something in the air…something different," said Maron.

Slava Gomozov ('09) and Ashley Allshouse ('11) described how they had gotten together.

"It's a long story. We took walks on Drew campus at night. We watched movies together," Allshouse and Gomozov said.

What else do Drew students do when they want to spend time with one another?

"For freshmen and sophomores, not having a car is the biggest factor. We would go out if we could, but all we can do is walk into town," Maximillian Merimee ('11) said.

Most agreed that the regular places to go were the Garlic Rose, Soho 33 and Atlanta Bread Company. But even for upperclassmen, a common claim was that there wasn't a lot to do in Madison.

"Going on actual dates-all you can do is go to dinner, watch a movie or go to a party on campus," Liz Cruz ('08) said.

"You could go to dinner at a restaurant in town, or watch a movie, but usually couples just party on-campus or go to The Pub if they're over 21," Lambert said.
