The Ranger's cold streak grew to 10 games, while their record dropped to 4-13, 1-5 in the Landmark Conference.
The Greyhounds' victory is due largely in part to them shooting 52 percent from the field, and the Rangers could never quite catch up with them.
"It was a disappointment because we played with a lack of energy and it's a shame we did because it was our first game at home in over a month. We never really got on track and that contributed to a loss," Nelson Albino ('09) shared.
Just seven minutes into the game, the Greyhounds hit seven out of eight of their field goals and had a quick 13-5 lead. The Rangers finally started to dwindle at this when they were down 10 at 20-12.
Guard Mike Mayes ('11) hit five straight points but it was quickly diffused by Moravian's guard Chris Cullen's ('11) pair of threes that pushed the Greyhounds' lead up to nine. Guard Joe Horvath ('11) managed to get the Rangers within four points of the Greyhounds, but ultimately the final score at halftime was 35-26 when Moravian's Ryan Miller widened their gap over their opponents.
The start of the second half was just as dominant for the Greyhounds, who increased their lead to 15 just three minutes in.
Once again, guard Mayes guided his team to tighten the gap with six points to drop the Greyhounds' lead to 43-34, followed by forward Bobby Clackner's ('09) big three.
With nine minutes left, the Greyhounds remained at the top at 52-40, and hit consecutive three pointers from forward Chris Bays ('08) and forward Mark Franzyshen ('08).
Guard Gerard Mullin ('09) fought back with a three of his own, but it was of no use to the Rangers when forward Eric Whitman ('08) gave the Greyhounds another three.
Only until nine seconds left in the game did the Rangers get back within single digits of the Greyhounds when forward Kyle Joyce ('11) hit a three.
The Rangers have faced some tough losses over the past month, but with help from their younger teammates, they hope to turn things around for the last few games of the season.
