Dear Marla,
Over spring break, when I was in Mexico, I cheated on my girlfriend of two years. It was a meaningless drunken hook up, but I feel so guilty for letting myself slip. I dont have the heart to tell her because I know shell break up with me. I love my girlfriend and want to protect her, but I cant stop feeling that she should know. My other problem is that our love life has gone down hill in the past few months. Id like to spice up my love life with my girlfriend. Do you have any suggestions?
Dear Reader,
It is obvious that these two problems are intertwined. You might have subconsciously cheated on your girlfriend as a way of enhancing your waning sex life. However, I see your predicament in either case, whether you tell her or not, your relationship will change. You know your girlfriend better than I do, but girls are rather unpredictable when told information such as this. It all depends on the girl. She can react in a million ways, positive or negative. Her worst reaction would be for her to tell you that she never wants to see you again. However, if you do not tell her at all, you will be wracked with guilt for the duration of the relationship, and will not see your girlfriend in the same sense again anyway. The only advice I can give you is to tell her. It is better to be honest and lose than to live a lie. Also, the next time you go to Mexico, take your girlfriend with you to avoid this problem all together.
If you decide to tell your girlfriend and she forgives you, I can give you some advice on how to spice things up in the bedroom. After two years Im sure the sex becomes monotonous you know what works for her and she knows what works for you. You are probably stuck in that repetitive rut. I suggest trying role-playing with dominant and submissive parts, playing games like twister with a sensual edge, or simply try recreating special moments like your first date.
Also, remember that sometimes the sexiest thing can be wanting and feeling wanted. Make sure your girlfriend knows how much you want to be with her, body and mind. Be creative and Im sure you will easily get past this sexual writers block. I wish you luck!
