To the Drew University Community, For the first time in my career on The Acorn, it did not print on a Friday. I consider this newspaper to play an important role on campus—mainly to inform the students along with representing their views and concerns.
The new college experience on the Drew campus for students is not being attacked by squirrels or attending the best party of the year. It is standing in line at the Book Store, waiting to check out, condoms in hand, only to turn around and find yourself face-to-face with your favorite professor.
The Drew community got a taste of Irish musical culture this week when County Donegal, Ireland’s duo The Surfchixxx jammed out in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts on Wednesday night. Aine O’ Doherty and Niamh Hamill played a total of 12 songs that were a mix of contemporary Irish rock and O’Doherty’s original pieces.
The Drew Men’s Soccer Team brought its A-game this past weekend, winning two straight games against SUNY-Old Westbury and Keystone College to capture its 15th Fall Festival Championship in the program’s history and increase its Fall Festival record to 39-7-6.
